Paradox NV780 Dual Side Intrusion Detector

Category:

Paradox NV780 Dual Side Intrusion Detector – Paradox is an engineering company – you can tell this from its website, which is all about communicating product specifications without any frills. It’s an ethos that applies to Paradox sensors as well, which have excellent design specifications that kick off with the use of second-generation Fresnel low diffraction lenses.

Paradox NV780 Dual Side Intrusion Detector With 12 Metres Detection Per Side.

Paradox NV780 Dual Side Intrusion Detector

Paradox NV780 is a digital outdoor dual side-view detector designed for perimeter applications requiring narrow beam detection with strong false alarm rejection. The detector uses 4 dual element sensors arranged to create focused detection zones on both sides of the device ideal for protection along walls, fences, balconies and perimeters.

Detection is managed by digital electronics control, combining high-resolution digital signal conversion with high-speed algorithmic processing. Each side uses 2 pairs of narrow beams, generating 2 detection signals per protected area crossing. Paradox says this improves catch performance while reducing nuisance alarms caused by environmental noise. Digital EMI and RFI rejection are built into the processing chain to maintain stability in electrically noisy outdoor environments.

The optical system combines mirror reflector technology with a second-generation Fresnel low diffraction lens. Use of LoDiff is nice to see in the world prone to manufacturing shortcuts. A long focal point lens at 1.77 inches produces narrow beams suitable for long-range side-view coverage. The optical design also increases resistance to white light interference, supporting consistent operation in exposed outdoor locations.

The NV780 supports pet immunity up to 40kg, allowing use in mixed environments where animals may be present near protected perimeters. Installation is supported by optical and digital range adjustment, along with a bright led and buzzer that provide immediate feedback during alignment. The unit supports single-zone or dual-zone operation, allowing both sides to report to one alarm input or to separate zones.

Firmware can be upgraded in the field via a serial port, extending service life and allowing feature updates without device replacement. The detector mounts directly to a wall and includes an integrated level tool, with no need to remove the PCB during installation or setup.
