Qolsys IQ4 NS with PowerG from BGW Technologies Proving Its Worth In Alarms Market.
Qolsys IQ4 NS with PowerG – According to Stanley El Komala, senior product manager at BGW Technologies, when the team launched Qolsys IQ4 NS with PowerG the objective was straightforward: deliver an affordable entry point into the Qolsys and Alarm.com ecosystem without compromising on performance.
Around 18 months in, El Komala says the Qolsys IQ4 NS panel has firmly established itself as a popular choice among installers, proving that affordability and capability can coexist.
“The IQ4 NS is suited to everywhere from residential homes to apartment buildings and everywhere in between,” El Komala says. “At its core, the IQ4 NS combines intuitive security management with Alarm.com connectivity, allowing for 24/7 alarm monitoring, encrypted communications, home automation functionality, and LTE cellular and WiFi connectivity.”
According to El Komala, it’s this flexibility that customers say is a key factor in the adoption and ongoing success of IQ4 NS.
vs conventional
“One of the first aspects installers noticed was the platform's streamlined programming process,” he explains. “Configuration is handled through the Qolsys IQ installer app on a smartphone or tablet, giving technicians a familiar experience that mirrors programming an IQ Panel 4. Day-to-day operation is then managed through either an active Alarm.com account or the addition of a secondary keypad such as the DSCHS2LCDWF4.
“Like the broader IQ Panel 4 family, the IQ4 NS supports up to 128 PowerG wireless devices, making it suitable for both new wireless installations and comprehensive system upgrades. For sites with existing wired infrastructure, the panel can also accommodate takeover scenarios through the addition of the DSCPG4WLSHW8-ANZ or DSCPG4HRDW8-ANZ wired-to-wireless takeover modules.”
El Komala says this flexibility enables installers to preserve existing wired zones while gaining access to a modern wireless platform.
“The panel also includes a built-in Alarm.com dual-path communicator and Z-Wave card, providing access to Alarm.com’s interactive services, video monitoring capabilities and home automation ecosystem,” he says. “Another significant contributor to the IQ4 NS's continued popularity is the integration of PowerG wireless technology. Designed to reduce operational costs while delivering high levels of reliability, PowerG remains one of the strongest differentiators within the platform."
"For installers who haven't had a chance to experience the platform, the IQ4 NS continues to present a compelling proposition,” El Komala explains.
“A combination of competitive pricing, streamlined programming, wired takeover options, Alarm.com integration and long-range PowerG performance ensures IQ4 NS remains a strong contender in today's intrusion market."
“More than a year after its introduction, the IQ4 NS demonstrates that delivering the essentials well, while maintaining flexibility and reliability, can be a formula for enduring success.”
