In a move that will be noticed by professional alarm manufacturers, Ring has announced it will release an AI glass break sensor for its Ring Alarm and Ring Alarm Pro systems.

According to Ring, the sensor’s AI technology can accurately detect glass break events, like windows being smashed or cracked, up to 8 metres away.

When glass break is detected, users receive a notification on their Ring App and settings can be adjusted to automatically trigger a Ring Alarm siren when in Home or Away mode. It’s also possible to receive a call from Ring’s monitoring centre if a customer has signed up for 24/7 professional monitoring with a Ring Protect Pro subscription.

PERMACONN

Ring Doorbells or Ring Cameras can be set to start recording when the glass break sensor triggers the siren. Being wireless, installatio is simple and with power from 3 AA alkaline batteries, there’s an expected battery life up to 3 years depending on device settings and the environment.
