SAGE Update – NSW & ACT Will Open Borders On November 1

The latest word from the Realm Hotel, host of Security & Government Expo 2021, is that ACT/NSW borders will open to vaccinated travellers on November 1 – more than 3 weeks before the event opens on November 25.

ACT Government’s latest advice is that on November 1 venues are able to support 1 delegate per 4 sqm, which allows the Realm Ballroom to hold 170 people at a time, with further easing expected before the event.

A compact pop-up event, SAGE ran smoothly in 2020 with a capacity limit of 190, and organisers expect similar numbers to be allowed into the hall in 5 week’s time.

In accordance with health advice prevailing on November 25, numbers in the exhibition and seminar spaces will be closely managed and the ASIS seminars will be live-streamed around the venue to facilitate social distancing. Other COVID safety procedures will include masking, distancing in the expo hall, hand hygiene stations, contact tracing, elevated venue ventilation rates, and the presence of COVID marshals.

All attendees are encouraged to be fully vaccinated 2 weeks before the event – attendees and exhibitors from NSW should note that it’s certain only fully vaccinated people will be able to cross the NSW/ACT border late November.

At press time, NSW is 82 per cent fully vaccinated, 92 per cent first dose, while ACT numbers are slightly less for double dose and more than 95 per cent for first doses. Importantly, Victoria is rapidly gaining ground on the leaders – nearly 70 per cent are double dosed and nearly 90 per cent single dosed.

Delegates/Attendees can register here, exhibitors can register here and you can book for the SAGE ASIS Dinner, here. It’s an understatement to say we’re looking forward to seeing you all in 5 weeks time!
