Security Exhibition & Conference organisers have announced that this year’s physical event has been cancelled and will be replaced with a virtual platform.
“Since our postponement back in June, the Security team has been working closely with the industry and monitoring the COVID-19 situation and multiple lockdowns across the nation,” said organiser Narelle Orange.
“With the situation in Sydney showing no signs of improvement we have made the decision to transition Security 2021, scheduled to run 17-19 November at ICC Sydney to a virtual platform with the introduction of Security Virtual, 17-18 November 2021.
“Security Exhibition & Conference aims to bring together Australia’s entire security community, connecting exhibitors and visitors from across Australia. Given the current challenges in bringing this community together physically in 2021, we hope that by delivering a virtual platform, we can continue to drive industry engagement, thinking and help our buyers source the products they need to navigate this new world.
“Although we are disappointed in not being able to host Security in person in 2021, we are continually humbled by the support we have received from our exhibitors, partners, sponsors, speakers and suppliers. The new virtual event will include the planned education program across the 2 days, including the ASIAL Security Conference.
“This program is an annual industry highlight, and we had already seen strong demand for tickets prior to the virtual transition. We anticipate that now, with the program going online and offering a nation-wide platform, that demand for tickets will only increase and we encourage you to speak to our team about new opportunities to connect with this virtual buying audience.
According to Orange, this transition means that organisers will no longer be able to host the Gala Dinner and tickets will be refunded. Exhibitors are encouraged to contact their client manager for more information on Security Virtual 2021, as well as plans for 2022.
