Sydney Metro West Seeks PIDS Access Control CCTV Under Honeywell Systems Framework.
Sydney Metro West Seeks PIDS Access Control CCTV – Expressions of interest are open for the passenger information display system (PIDS) package as part of the Sydney Metro West Systems Frameworks Package, with Honeywell leading delivery of multiple core operational systems across the project.
These core operational systems look to us to include access control, CCTV, fire detection, public address, voice alarms and more, provided as an integrated solution – you’ll need to clarify via the link below, but the requirement looks comprehensive.
The PIDS scope calls for the design, supply and installation of a complete passenger information display system to provide real-time service information, schedules, alerts and announcements across the network. The system will form a key part of the passenger experience, delivering consistent, accurate information across stations and platforms.
The tender sits within a broader systems framework contract awarded to Honeywell, covering building management control systems, electronic access control, CCTV, fire detection, public address and voice alarm, and passenger information systems.
The structure suggests Honeywell is acting as head contractor for these integrated systems, with specialist subcontractors to be engaged across individual packages.
Integration with public address systems, CCTV and access control will be critical to ensure coordinated response during incidents, service disruptions and emergency events. In modern metro environments, these systems are increasingly converged, with shared networks, common management platforms and centralised control rooms.
Sydney Metro West is a 24km underground rail project connecting Parramatta and the Sydney CBD, with stations planned at Westmead, Parramatta, Sydney Olympic Park, North Strathfield, Burwood North, Five Dock, The Bays, Pyrmont and Hunter Street. The project is expected to open in 2032 and will significantly increase rail capacity across the corridor.
EOIs are being managed via ICN Gateway, with Honeywell encouraging suppliers to ensure company profiles are complete and aligned with capability requirements.
