The patent for the camera enclosure has been credited to John Wulf, Luis Anderson, Mark Hauge and Steven Schielz and has been assigned to Sensormatic. According to the patent, the housing can be inserted into an opening in a ceiling member and includes a flange near the lower end and a plurality of mounting clamps for engaging the perimeter of an opening in the ceiling. Final insertion of the chassis into the housing and electrical connection via blind mating connectors is by threaded fasteners on the positioning members and flanges. The housing is also said to have an outdoor application with a heater and fan assembly, and the installation of the camera can be accomplished without the need to disassemble the dome assembly. Light-emitting diodes can be viewed from below the camera chassis for installation and service.
