Viking Integrates Access Control And Video Surveillance For Ocean Reef Marine Redevelopment.
Viking Integrates Access Control, Video Surveillance – Viking Security Solutions has completed the first-stage security works for the $A270 million Ocean Reef Marina redevelopment, a flagship coastal infrastructure project being delivered by DevelopmentWA in partnership with the City of Joondalup.
The initial packages cover 2 critical marina tenants, Marine Rescue Whitfords and the Ocean Reef Sea Sports Club, with Viking engaged post-design by Byte Construct to supply, install and commission a fully integrated security solution.
At the Sea Sports Club, Viking deployed a Gallagher SMB access control and intruder alarm platform integrated across 35 access-controlled doors with lift control, supporting a database of more than 4000 staff and members. Uniview dome and bullet cameras provide site-wide CCTV coverage, with A1 monitoring delivered by Viking Security Solutions. According to Viking’s Erik Löfström, this installation is understood to be the largest Gallagher SMB deployment completed in Australia to date.
Meanwhile, for Marine Rescue Whitfords, the team implemented an Inner Range Integriti access control and intruder alarm system, combined with Axis dome, bullet and PTZ cameras, once again managed through Network Optix NX Witness and supported by A1 monitoring through Viking’s operations.
In terms of operational scope, Marine Rescue Whitfords is a volunteer-based marine search and rescue organisation operating from the northern Perth coastline, providing around the clock response across a wide section of the Indian Ocean approaches. The facility supports vessel operations, radio and coordination rooms, training spaces and volunteer amenities, requiring resilient access control, reliable surveillance and monitored intrusion protection to support emergency response readiness.
Meanwhile, Ocean Reef Sea Sports Club is one of Western Australia’s largest community marine sports hubs, supporting sailing, power boating and a huge membership base. Its new marina facility includes club rooms, storage areas, lifts and shared-access spaces, demanding high-capacity credential management and integrated security that can scale with membership growth while remaining simple for daily operations.
“Delivering the first stage of security for Ocean Reef Marina is something we’re genuinely proud of,” said Erik Löfström of Viking Security Solutions. “These are mission-critical facilities with very different operational requirements, and the focus was on delivering integrated systems that are robust, scalable and fit for purpose from day one.”
Viking credited its supply partners Wesco Anixter, VSP, Seadan Security and DAS for their support across the project. Based in Western Australia, Viking Security Solutions designs and delivers commercial electronic security and network infrastructure across Perth and regional WA, specialising in access control, intrusion detection, CCTV, intercoms and secure networking.
