Wyndham Police Station Needs New Security System Likely To Include Access Control, Alarms And CCTV.
Wyndham Police Station Needs New Security System – The Western Australian Department of Housing and Works has released a tender for a security system upgrade at Wyndham Police Station in the Kimberley region.
Before we go further, security installers should note that a mandatory briefing is scheduled for 10am on 8 April 2026 at the Wyndham site, with attendance to be confirmed in advance – click the link at the bottom of the story for details about registering for that – you’ll need to manage your own transport.
Issued on behalf of WAPOL, the tender calls for an upgrade of electronic security systems at the regional facility. While a detailed scope has not been published in the tender release, works in WAPOL’s remote police stations typically include access control, alarms and CCTV – there might be a networking component, too.
The Wyndham station services a remote part of the Kimberley, where police challenges include long distances, limited infrastructure and environmental extremes. Security system upgrades in the Kimberley will need to prioritise reliability, resilience and integration with or replacement of existing communications and/or monitoring systems. The external elements of this system will need to be able to deal with heat, dust and big wet.
WAPOL operates across the largest policing jurisdiction in Australia, covering approximately 2.5 million square kilometres. The organisation has around 7000 personnel, including sworn officers and support staff, and operates more than 150 police stations and facilities across metropolitan and regional areas. WAPOL’s operational headquarters are based in Perth.
This Wyndham Police Station needs new security system tender closes at 2:30pm WA time on April 15 – just make sure you register for that mandatory site briefing scheduled for 10am April 8 – it’s at the Wyndham site, too.
