BOSCH Security Systems has expanded its line of Professional Series intrusion detectors and detectors with two new models that feature the Mantis multi-point anti-mask technology with integrated spray detection. This new technology utilizes patented prism lenses and active infrared detection to protect against all known forms of attack, providing superior protection against sabotage.
The new ISC-PPR1-WA16x and ISC-PDL1-WA18x detectors are compliant with the latest worldwide regulatory standards for detection of objects covering or placed in front of the detector. These units are sensitive to various materials regardless of texture or colour, including fabric, paper, metal, plastic, tape and spray.
Professional Series
The new models join the ISC-PPR1-W16 and ISC-PDL1-W18 Professional Series Intrusion Detectors, which have been used in a variety of commercial and retail applications for nearly two years. The complete line of Professional Series Intrusion Detectors offer Bosch’s Sensor Data Fusion technology, which interactively processes data from up to five different sensors. By comparing sensor data, the detectors virtually eliminate false alarms and improve catch performance over traditional motion detectors by 35 per cent.
With Bosch’s Tri-Focus Optics technology, three custom engineered lenses provide two times the signal to noise ratio, which produces sharper and brighter images that make it easier for the Professional Series detectors to distinguish intruders from false alarm sources.
Installation
Installation time for the detectors is also reduced up to 25 per cent over traditional detectors by a host of features, including a built-in level, three optional mounting brackets and a flexible mounting height that allows the detectors to be positioned from seven to 10 feet without adjustment. A self-locking, two piece enclosure also slides easily into place, diminishing mounting time for the detectors to mere seconds.
A sealed optic chamber provides immunity to drafts and insects, eliminates accidental damage, and improves the durability and reliability of the Professional Series line of detectors. A cover and wall tamper switch provides an additional level of protection from sabotage. Solid state relays send silent alarm output signals and are unaffected by an external magnet for a high level of security and reliability. The solid state relay also uses less current than a mechanical relay, providing longer standby capacity during a power loss.
The housings are white, high impact ABS, there’s a tiny spirit level moulded into the rear case and you also get a quick release lock nut. The vertically aligned individual pyro sensors share 3 Fresnel lenses.
The sensor’s front case engages with the terminal block by sliding the sensor upwards and clicking it into position. The front case is self locking and requires a terminal sized screwdriver to release the two parts by giving the spring loaded lock nut a quarter turn anti-clockwise.
It’s possible to tune the intrusion detectors / sensor using on/off dip switches to control target distance, mounting height, and remote LED control, while the dual tech model with microwave sensor has a range potentiometer and anti masking features to program.
