Ajax Fires Broadside At Alarms Market With Multiple New Products.
Ajax Fires Broadside At Alarms Market – At a recent online event, alarm manufacturer Ajax fired a heavy broadside at the alarms market, with multiple new hardware devices and updates to existing product released simultaneously.
There are too many releases and updates to cover in detail first up. Things that stuck out included Curtain Outdoor Jeweller for external perimeters with a new optical system, 3 detection modes, dual motion detection, K-band microwave and a new algorithm.
There were also updates to Ajax MotionCam, including HDR technology, an improved optical system, a new CMOS sensor and a new TurboWings wireless protocol that Ajax says transmits images in 5 seconds. Something else we think is way cool is SpeakerPhone Jeweller, a module for audio alarm verification.
The device employs Ajax VoRF, a new proprietary protocol for transmitting voice over radio, as well as AI-powered audio processor supporting noise suppression, echo cancellation, and automatic adjustment of microphone sensitivity.
Also new is MotionCam Outdoor HighMount sensor that can be located at heights of up to 4 metres. The detector uses advanced dual motion detection technology combined with the LISA algorithm. Intelligent filtering system is designed to ensure tree movement doesn’t become a false alarm trigger. If the alarm is raised, it can be verified with a series of photos, and there’s a photo-on-demand feature, too.
Next comes Ajax DoorBell, a video doorbell with built-in AI, PIR sensor, and control via apps. It has a 4MP camera with HDR and IR illumination of up to 6m, and there’s noise and echo cancelling. Ajax DoorBell is equipped with a PIR sensor and built-in AI, the device and detects movement and recognises people, animals, and vehicles.
SeismoProtect G3 Fibra is the first Ajax seismic detector designed to detect vibrations from drilling, cutting, and explosions. The device identifies physical force, such as bending or pushing, temperature changes near the enclosure, and quickly reacts to shocks and tilt. An advanced software algorithm analyses all the vibrations to filter out false alarms.
Another solution we like is Hub BP Jeweller, a battery-powered control panel ideal for protecting remote sites or locations without a power supply or network connection. Available in 2 versions — with or without casing, the hub can be powered by internal batteries from Ajax, or internal and external batteries from third-party manufacturers.
Hub BP Jeweller supports up to 100 Ajax devices and allows for building comprehensive systems for intrusion protection, fire safety, water leak prevention, and automation. Besides, Hub BP supports photo verification and automation scenarios and features sabotage protection.
Hub BP Jeweller is compatible with an external antenna that helps to overcome barriers to radio signals in challenging environments, such as reinforced concrete. It ensures stable connection via Jeweller and Wings, as well as a cellular network.
According to David Noden of DAS, the presentation of the new Ajax gear was professional and engaging.
“There was lots of excitement and plenty of questions from customers during the Live Demo Pods the DAS branches had going on,” Noden said.
“We think the most exciting products are the DoorBell and MotionCam Outdoor HighMount (PhOD) – ustomers see plenty of opportunities for these products.”
From SEN‘s point of view as an industry observer, it’s easy to imagine competitors seriously disliking Ajax. Its dynamism is profound and the engineering team is always feeling for technology’s bleeding edge. But even for bitter competitors there’s much to love about Ajax.
This company has single-handedly shown the security market that installers and end users still love and trust capable alarm systems, even if they are much more expensive than their competitors. There’s a valuable lesson in that for anyone paying attention.
