Acquires Crime Prediction Developer – Allegion Ventures has made a $US20 million investment in Ambient.ai, an artificial intelligence-powered computer vision intelligence company that’s committed to transforming enterprise security operations by preventing security incidents before they happen.
Based in San Jose, California, Ambient.ai applies AI and CVI to existing security camera infrastructure – allowing their platform to deliver near human-level visual perception that analyzes actions and situational context to create efficient and accurate threat detection.
Ambient.ai threat signatures look for unexpected changes in human behaviour. These changes in behaviour, combined with locations and location context, is used to identify emerging security incidents. With an expansive library of threat signatures, the Ambient.ai product is designed to adapt in real-time to an always changing risk landscape.
The solution covers falls and medical issues, false alarm filtration, perimeter breaches, detection of weapons like knives and guns, loitering, attempted tail gating and more – these capabilities make response up to 10x faster.
According to Ambient.ai the solution also makes security investigations 90 per cent faster by using visual attributes of objects to efficiently find every video moment where an object was present.

Allegion Ventures President Rob Martens, who also serves as chief innovation and design officer at Allegion, emphasized that Ambient.ai is a true innovator in the marketplace. Martens will serve as a board observer for Ambient.ai.
