♦ BST Secures Monarto Safari Park – South Australian security integrator BST Australia is undertaking an access control and security integration for Monarto Safari Park Wild Africa Hotel. The enterprise video surveillance system was designed by CTG Matrix and comprises Dahua cameras and VMS.

Monarto Safari Park, formerly known as Monarto Zoological Park and Monarto Zoo, is a 1500-hectare open-range zoo administered by the Royal Zoological Society of South Australia and located 70 kilometres from Adelaide’s centre.

There are 5 major habitat exhibit, including the Asian steppes, arid north Africa, African plains, and Asian grasslands. The entire zoo is surrounded with vermin-proof fencing to keep the habitat as self-contained as possible. Wastewater is recycled and solar power is used for electric fencing needs.

In late 2019, Monarto Zoo began a 3-year project to convert itself into a safari park with luxury resort facilities. As part of the overhaul, it transitioned its branding to Monarto Safari Park and, when completed, will become the largest park of its kind outside of Africa.

According to BST’s David Rasmussen, the team is excited to be working with Tad-Mar Electrical on the security, SALTO access control and hotel system, CCTV, intercom and PA systems for Monarto Safari Park Wild Africa Hotel.

“This is our second regional hotel in as many years and a great addition for the region,” Rasmussen said.

Based at Edwardstown, BST has expertise in access control, alarms, intercom, CCTV, PA and wireless technologies, and its client based includes Adelaide University, Flinders University, and TAFE, OneSteel, Bemax Mining and Siemens, and government departments, including DPTI, CSIRO and the Forensic Science Centre.

“BST Australia has access to the world’s leading brands as well as innovative solutions from smaller providers to ensure that the solution provided for our customers not only meets their needs but also their budget,” Rasmussen said.

“Our trained and licensed team has many years of experience in all aspects of technology-based solutions including design, installation, service, and maintenance and provides full turnkey projects or service and maintenance on existing systems.”

On the CCTV side the Monarto Safari Park , encompassing the park surrounds, animal habits , new visitor centre and operations centre are secured by Dahua CCTV and VMS. Dahua worked closely with Zoos SA, Tadmar Electrical, and local consultant, CTG Matrix, to deliver this solution, and is working closely with SA Zoos to centralise operations across all parks.
