Calibre Controls Wins $A6.1 Million Waterways CCTV – Calibre Controls has been awarded a $6.1 million contract by the Western Australian Department of Transport to design, install, operate and maintain a marine safety waterways CCTV system.
The project covers multiple fixed sites and mobile deployments for real-time on-water activity monitoring and video footage analysis.
The system will monitor designated areas of the Swan and Canning Rivers, including the Belmont, Deepwater Point and Point Walter water ski areas, as well as the personal watercraft zone near South Perth Narrows Bridge. Calibre Controls will also supply and operate two mobile CCTV platforms, with provision for up to four more and additional fixed sites if supplementary funding is made available.
The fully managed service includes infrastructure delivery and long-term equipment maintenance, with the system to deliver live CCTV streams and flagged alleged offence events. The footage will support the Department’s efforts in enhancing marine safety through automated and remote monitoring capability.
