Casuarina Prison Seeks Perimeter Security Upgrade – Programmed Facility Management is seeking suitably qualified security and communications contractors to undertake a major perimeter security infrastructure upgrade at Casuarina Prison in Western Australia.

Issued on behalf of the Department of Housing and Works and Department of Justice, this tender includes replacement of the prison’s existing perimeter detection system communications infrastructure and migration of existing perimeter security systems to a new fibre optic security communication network.

The project will replace an end-of-life direct-buried coaxial communications system with a new fibre optic network supporting the prison’s perimeter security infrastructure.

Works include supply and installation of new pits and conduits, power and communications cabling, fibre optic cabling and new equipment cabinets. Existing perimeter security systems will then be migrated onto the new network.

Located at 288 Orton Road, Casuarina, the maximum-security prison is a significant Department of Justice facility, making resilience of the communications infrastructure supporting perimeter detection a critical element of the upgrade.

Detailed scope, specifications and drawings are subject to confidentiality requirements. Tenderers must complete and submit the provided confidentiality agreement to Programmed Facility Management before receiving access to this documentation.

A mandatory tender briefing and site inspection will be held at Casuarina Prison at 10am on 21 August 2026. Attendance must be registered at least 2 days in advance, attendees must carry photo identification and mobile phones are not permitted on site.
