Dahua 4MP 5x TiOC WizSense Mini PTZ – SecuSafe has released Dahua’s new 4MP 5x TioC mini PTZ camera.
The Dahua DH-SD3E405DB-GNY-A-PV1 features a 1/2.8-inch 4MP CMOS sensor with a maximum resolution of 2560 pixel high and 1440 pixels wide. There’s WDR performance of 120dB and the camera is supported by 50 metres of IR and 30 metres of white light.
The camera has a motorized 5x optical zoom from a 2.7mm–13.5mm zoom with a variable aperture of F1.6–F3.0 and a hyperfocal distance of around 1.5 metres. This lens offers a maximum horizontal angle of view of about 95 degrees.
Thanks to optical zoom, the WizSense Mini PTZ offers solid DORI numbers – there’s detection to 270 metres, observation to 107 metres, recognition out to 54 metres and identification out 27 metres. We’ve not seen the camera in action, but experience suggests these numbers are accurate for a 13x optical zoom.
Dahua Smart Motion Detection reduces IVA false alarms and delivers more precise alerts. There’s tripwire for intrusion, crossing fence detection, loitering detection, abandoned/missing object, fast moving, parking detection, people gathering, vehicle/human alarm classification and linkage tracking.

There’s siren and light active deterrence, with red and blue lights to alert intruders to the fact they have been detected and are being monitored and recorded, as well as a built-in microphone and speaker to communicate in real-time with visitors or to inform intruders they should leave the location.
The build meets IP66 to handle harsh external environments. Operating temperature range is -30 to 60C and there’s TVS 6000 V lightning protection, surge protection and voltage transient protection.
The camera is compact at 142.6mm x 140mm x 236.1mm and it weighs about 2kg with fitting. Draw is modest – around 4.5W in ordinary operation and around 14W with lights on.
