Genetec Expands Security Center SaaS Capabilities To Support Direct To Cloud Cameras.
Genetec Expands Security Center SaaS Capabilities – Genetec has announced new feature updates to its Security Center SaaS platform, including expanded support for direct-to-cloud cameras, enhanced edge recording functionality, and new third-party analytics integrations.
Security Center SaaS unifies video surveillance, access control, intrusion monitoring, forensic search, and automation. It can be deployed fully in the cloud, on-premises, or in hybrid configurations.
The system supports a wide range of third-party hardware, including Axis, Bosch, and i-PRO cameras, with new support for PTZ and fisheye units with automatic de-warping. Existing non-cloud-capable access control devices and intrusion panels can be integrated using Genetec appliances.
Video can be stored locally on the camera using SD cards or in the cloud depending on policy, bandwidth, and operational requirements. Recording profiles allow standardised control over how and where video is captured across multiple devices. WebRTC support enables direct peer-to-peer video streaming from cameras to web interfaces, reducing call-up times and bandwidth consumption.
The platform is designed for scalable use in multi-site environments such as retail, education, banking, corporate campuses, healthcare and public infrastructure. It can be centrally managed from a security operations centre or remotely via web and mobile apps. Real-time alerts and event-driven workflows are supported, including new firearm detection analytics from Bosch.
Security Center SaaS updates are issued every 12 days and are designed to expand cloud-native functionality while supporting existing infrastructure.
