Genetec SV-16 Network Appliance

DESIGNED for 16 cameras or less, Genetec’s SV-16 is designed for use in small installations where Omnicast’s features are desirable or for the purpose of pulling a small-set of remote cameras into a larger system. The SV-16 is compatible with both IP cameras and analog cameras with the use of video encoders. Omnicast’s open architecture gives customers the ability to select best-of-breed hardware from a long list of manufacturers. Having the open-platform video system also means that customers can preserve existing hardware, whether IP or analog cameras. And as new hardware is released on the market, customers can take advantage of hardware integration packs to benefit from the latest technology. With Omnicast built-in, the SV-16 can easily be integrated into any existing Omnicast installation for local recording in remote locations or for the management of distant cameras over wireless network. For small or distributed systems, the SV-16 can also operate as a stand-alone recording system, allowing customers to benefit from the advanced capabilities of Genetec’s video surveillance system. Weighing only 13 ounces, the SV-16 is one of the smallest network security appliances on the market. The SV-16’s compact and fanless design gives you the recording power you need with a tiny 6W of power consumption. The aluminum casing of the SV-16 ensures durability, no matter the environment. Since camera licenses are obtained on a per-camera basis, adding a new camera on the SV-16 is as simple as acquiring another license. Customers can also benefit from new releases of Omnicast with simple software upgrades. And when the system grows beyond 16 cameras, customers can trade in their licenses to easily move their system to traditional server-based storage.
