Ian Ross Retires From CSD – CSD’s NSW state manager, Ian Ross, has retired from CSD, making way for Brett Hansen to join one of Australia’s largest security distributors.
Ross served over 40 years in the security industry with multiple organisations and more recently spent 5 years at CSD, making significant contributions to the industry – he said it was time to relax and take things a little more quietly.
“While I am looking forward to my retirement, I will miss the ever-changing security industry and most of all the friendships that have been forged over the years” Ross said. “Thanks to all those that have been involved in my career over the years it has been a pleasure working with you all, I will miss CSD, I will miss the industry, it has been a great ride.”
CSD’s director of sales Alan Aiken said Ross’ retirement gave him mixed feelings.
“I’m sad to see him go but happy for Ian’s next adventure doing what he loves most – working on his cars, fishing, and drinking red wine,” Aiken said. “Ian will be missed from the CSD business and from his local team in NSW.”

Ian Ross Retires From CSD-CSD’s search for a replacement was not easy as the role demanded experience in all facets of the electronic security industry, including manufacturing, security integration and as an end user, as well as having experience in driving a successful sales team. That replacement is Brett Hansen.
“Brett comes with all the ingredients we were looking for,” said Aiken. “He spent many years as a security technician before spending 7 years at HID Global as regional sales manager. More recently he has spent 4 years with Milestone as South Pacific country manager before a short stint at Wormald.
“With this and other key appointments, CSD moves into a new era in 2023 with new product and sales strategies being driven by an extremely capable management team.”
Hansen said he was excited to join CSD and was looking forward to helping the business grow further.
“In my dealings with the CSD I’ve been consistently impressed with the teams high levels of customer service and support,” Hansen said. “I’ve spent a lot of time going over the CSD strategies with Alan to make sure that I can make a solid contribution to the organisation, and I am really looking forward to rolling out our plans.”
