Incite Security in Western Australia has installed Avigilon cameras as part of an upgrade to City of Greater Geraldton’s 57-camera public safety system.
According to Incite’s Robbie Place, the rolling upgrade to City of Greater Geraldton’s 50-camera public safety system now incorporates an end-to-end Avigilon solution, including Avigilon Control Center VMS.
“The system includes a managed network upgrade designed in house by technical systems engineer, Ryan Joseph,” Place said.
The City of Greater Geraldton decided to replace its entire CCTV network in 2021 after discovering the 10-year-old legacy system needed a $A260,000 overhaul and had multiple cameras that were not working.
Mayor Shane Van Styn said the city had approved an additional $160,000 from operating repairs to capital works to overhaul the system.
“We normally spend $100,000 a year on cameras, but this time instead of patching up faults in the network, we have decided on a whole system renewal,” Van Styn said.
Incite Security is a Geraldton-based integrated security solutions company established in 2006 integrating alarm, access control, automation and CCTV solutions for commercial, industrial, residential and government applications.
