New 5MP External Turrets From Vivotek Offer WDR Pro, RealSight and SmartVCA.
New 5MP External Vivotek Turrets – Vivotek released 2 new 5MP outdoor AI cameras, the IT9383-HV and IT9383-HVW, at ICS West.
The new cameras incorporate AI-based video analytics and image enhancement tools intended to increase investigative accuracy and reduce manual workload. Both feature WDR Pro, built-in infrared and warm lighting up to 30 meters, and use Sony STARVIS 2 sensors that improve dynamic range and light sensitivity.
Vivotek’s RealSight Engine further optimises image clarity, balancing exposure across light and dark areas. These turret dome cameras are capable of real-time object detection and attribute classification, identifying up to 25 types of objects simultaneously, regardless of lighting or obstructions.
Smart VCA is included for behaviour detection and event tracking, reducing false alerts and streamlining incident response. When people or vehicles are detected, the onboard illuminators activate automatically to improve colour visibility.
Cybersecurity is handled with Trend Micro IoT Protection, and the devices integrate into Vivotek’s management platform for centralised operation and review.
These turret dome cameras use a 1/2.8-inch progressive CMOS sensor to deliver a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1920 (5MP). Equipped with a fixed-focal 2.8mm lens and F2.0 aperture, they deliver a horizontal angle of view of 103.4 degrees.

Minimum illumination is rated at 0.055 lux in colour and 0.005 lux in black and white – it’s 0 lux when infrared or warm light are active, and those warm and infrared hybrid illuminators deliver up to 30 metres range.
The cameras have a removable IR-cut filter for day/night functionality, while electronic pan, tilt, and zoom (ePTZ) capabilities include a 48x digital zoom with a pan range greater than 350 degrees.
Video compression options include H.265, H.264, and MJPEG formats, with support for 3 simultaneous streams and up to 8 configurable profiles. The cameras deliver frame rates of up to 60fps depending on resolution and stream configuration. Onboard storage supports MicroSD/SDHC/SDXC cards up to 1TB and NAS recording.
There’s Smart Stream III and image settings like 3DNR, defog, and WDR improve video quality, while privacy masks, exposure controls, anti-overexposure functions, and motion blur sharpening are included. Connectivity is via a 10/100 Mbps PoE RJ-45 port, with power consumption rated at a maximum of 10.7W. The camera supports IEEE 802.3af PoE Class 3.
The housing measures 120 x 95mm, weighs 730g, and meets IP66 and IK10 ratings for environmental protection. Operating temperatures range from -30 to 50C. You can learn more about availability of the new cameras from a local distributor here or read more SEN news here.
