New Nedap uPASS Go Long-Range UHF Reader – New Nedap uPASS Go from Nedap is a long-range UHF RFID reader designed to support automatic vehicle identification in parking facilities, gated communities, and staff access areas.
With a maximum read range of up to 10 meters using passive UHF (EPC Gen 2) tags, the reader offers a cost-effective, battery-free solution for high-frequency vehicle access environments.
The device supports standard communication protocols including RS485, Wiegand, Ethernet (TCP/IP), clock & data, and USB-C for service. Legacy Wiegand systems can be upgraded without re-cabling, and OSDP v2 is available for secure channel communication between the reader and controller. The integrated TCP-IP protocol enables remote configuration and firmware updates via a browser-based interface.
The uPASS Go includes a circular polarised antenna, eliminating tag orientation sensitivity. This is particularly useful for vehicles with metalised windshields, as long as the tag remains within the reader’s line of sight. Audible and visual feedback are provided via an internal beeper and high-intensity LED.
Installation is facilitated by the compact 240 x 225 x 71 mm housing and supplied stainless steel Mount Set Pole. Optional accessories include a weather protection hood for sun-exposed sites and a mount set extension for ceiling or wall mounting at adjustable angles. A tamper switch provides security feedback in perimeter applications.
The reader is rated IP66/NEMA4x and operates in environments from -30°C to +60°C. It supports power inputs of 12–24VDC and includes general purpose inputs, relay output, and magnetic tamper switch.
