New Takex VS-1000E Vape And Smoking Sensor – Takex has released the VS-1000E vape and smoking detector, a purpose-built sensor designed to address vaping and smoking in schools, restrooms, and similar environments.
The VS-1000E combines high-sensitivity particle sensing with intelligent processing to reduce false alarms and simplify deployment. It features a local solid-state relay output (selectable NC/NO) and is designed to integrate with conventional security systems without requiring apps or licensing. The unit provides configurable sounder and LED notification and supports both real-time and pulse output modes, allowing tailored responses to detected activity.
Engineered for fast installation, the VS-1000E includes screwless terminals, twist-lock base mounting, and tamper-resistant housing. It also includes built-in self-diagnostics that trigger alerts in the event of voltage or module faults. The unit supports both ceiling and wall mounting and operates on 10.5–28V DC with a current draw of 85mA. Operating temperature is rated from 0C to +50C.
The VS-1000E supports site-wide integration through dry-contact relay outputs, dedicated terminal interconnection, and selectable LED and buzzer functionality.
