OpenEye AI Visual Check Automates Video-Based Site Inspections.

OpenEye AI Visual Check Automates Video – OpenEye’s AI Visual Check for OpenEye Web Services uses AI-powered video analytics to automatically inspect site conditions, allowing users to define operational, security and safety requirements using natural-language prompts.

Rather than requiring operators to continuously review video, AI Visual Check analyses camera snapshots at a user-defined cadence against predefined visual conditions. Users specify what they want the system to check, establish a schedule and receive an alert when the observed condition falls outside expectations.

Applications include checking whether retail shelves have been stocked, displays are correctly positioned, floor mats are in place, lobbies are clean or access points are secure. The technology can be applied across multiple sites, reducing the requirement for physical inspections and manual video review.

AI Visual Check can also support safety and compliance monitoring. For example, users can configure the system to identify objects blocking emergency exits, obstructions in forklift routes or items left in designated pedestrian walkways.

The use of natural-language prompts allows individual checks to be tailored to the requirements of a particular location or operation without relying on a fixed set of detection rules.

Unlike conventional video analytics that continuously monitor for predefined objects or events, AI Visual Check reviews a video snapshot at a specified interval and determines whether the user-defined condition has been met. Operators are notified when a condition requiring attention is identified.

OWS retains Visual Check results, allowing organisations to analyse historical data and identify recurring operational issues across locations over weeks or months. This can highlight persistent problems and provide information for operational, facilities, safety and security teams.

OpenEye has been developing some excellent analytics technologies over the past couple of years’ and the team’s operational focus is front and centre in OpenEye AI Visual Check.
