Panasonic Sponsors Hills Regatta

The funds will be put towards the installation of a soft playground base at the school and swimming lessons for students. Robert Jason from Secom Technical Services raised a personal total of $1420 while Secom Technical Services raised $2385 and took out the Charity Challenge Trophy. Congratulations to Secom.
The race itself took place in 15-20 knots of West-Sou’-Westerly with stronger gusts on the beat home as the Southerly filled in. Crews included ADT, Secom Technical Services, Securetek, DAS Rosebery, Superb Electrical and Team Newcastle.
The racers were strung out in a line from the start with the closest racing centring around the Bavaria 40 <I>Circe<I> chasing Superb Electrical and DAS Granville on a Northshore 369 that proved quick as a whippet.
After some to-ing and fro-ing, a few applications of the iron mizzen and a bit of inventive marshalling from officials, Superb Electronics only just took out the race, with everyone on the boat having had at least one turn on the wheel in the run to finish line between Kirribilli House and the Opera House.
Pacific Communications’ NSW branch manager, Scott Myles, thanked attendees for a fantastic day.
“I look forward to see everyone next year defending their titles or having a crack at the Charity Challenge trophy and the Pacific Communications Cup,” he said.
This is a great initiative that makes a real difference in the lives of disabled children and it’s always a heart-warming experience taking part. Congratulations to Hills, and many thanks to organisers including but not limited to, Scott Myles, Lana Hilton and Nadine Donnell. Last but not least, thanks to Panasonic for its sponsorship of this great event.
