Panoramic ColorVu 4K From VSP

♦ Panoramic ColorVu 4K From VSP – VSP is distributing Hikvision’s panoramic IP67-rated 4K ColorVu camera with 40m white light and a 180-degree angle of view from a pair of fast 4mm lenses.

According to the VSP team, the cameras, which are available in bullet or pro-level turret styles, harness pioneering pixel-level image registration technology with Hikvision’s image fusion algorithm to stitch together a 180-degree horizontal field of view.

“These ColorVu panoramic cameras deliver brilliant and seamless panoramas with more detail,” said VSP’s Zaki Wazir. “Wide-area security footage helps improve situational awareness and reduces the amount of cameras required for comprehensive monitoring, aiding cost efficiency.

“Hikvision’s ColorVu technology helps users protect people and property by capturing high-quality, full-color video 24/7 with the same sharp rendering at night as in daylight. Now, combine ColorVu with (“+”) other Hikvision’s advanced technology (“X”). Another key feature of the cameras is AcuSense, which means the cameras can capture human and vehicle targets.

“AcuSense-powered Motion Detection 2.0 distinguishes human beings and vehicles from other objects in any given environment, focusing on real security threats, and enables efficient video searches,” Wazir said. “Meanwhile, models equipped with Live Guard deter trespassers with visual and auditory warnings while sending notifications to users remotely.”

The cameras have a pair of 1/1.8-inch CMOS sensors delivering 5120 x 1440 pixels of resolution and are claimed to deliver colour in 0.0005 lux at F1.0 with AGC on, or in 0 lux with integrated 40m white light activated. Fronting the 2 cameras are fixed F1.0 aperture, 4mm focal length lenses, which between them deliver a 180-degree panoramic view.

Video compression options include H.265+, H.265, H.264+, H.264 for the main stream and H.265, H.264, and MJPEG for sub streaming. Bit rate control is CBR/VBR and there’s scalable video coding, region of interest and main stream fixed region. Image settings cover saturation, brightness, contrast, sharpness, gain and white balance, with all adjustable by client software or web browser.

Simultaneous live view is possible with 6 users (32 possible authorised users in 3 access levels), Open Network Video Interface options include Profile S, Profile G, Profile T), I SAPI, SDK and ISUP.

Security includes password protection, complicated password, HTTPS encryption, 802.1X authentication (EAP-MD5), watermark, IP address filter, basic and digest authentication for HTTP/HTTPS, WSSE and digest authentication for Open Network Video Interface, RTP/RTSP over HTTPS, control timeout settings, security audit log, TLS 1.2, and host authentication (MAC address).

Basic event capture covers motion detection (support alarm triggering by specified target types (human and vehicle)), alarm input and output, flashing alarm light output, audible alarm output, and exceptions.

Meanwhile, smart events include line crossing detection, intrusion detection, region entrance detection, region exiting detection (support alarm triggered by specified target types (human and vehicle)) and scene change detection.

Power is 12V DC with a 0.79A maximum current draw at 9.5W, while PoE is Class 3, with a maximum draw of 0.29A and 10.5W. Operating temperature range is -30 to 60C, weight is 2.2kg and dimensions are around 120 wide x 105 deep x 180mm long.

Contact VSP for more information on this camera – the specs suggest it’s likely to offer strong depth of field to go with that wide angle of view.
