Torus 5 Smart Electronic Key Management – Torus has released the Torus 5 smart electronic key management system, a wall-mounted cabinet designed to control, monitor and audit the use of physical keys across an organisation.

The system provides a cloud-native platform for managing key access, allowing authorised users to retrieve and return keys under controlled conditions, with all activity logged in real time. Access permissions can be assigned, modified or revoked remotely, supporting distributed operations and reducing reliance on manual key handling processes.

From a physical perspective, the Torus 5 cabinet measures 335 x 485 x 182mm and weighs approximately 15kg, making it suitable for installation in control rooms, secure offices or plant areas where keys need to be centrally managed.

Operationally, the system combines controlled access with full audit visibility. Each key transaction is recorded, enabling tracking of who accessed a key, when it was removed and when it was returned. Real-time alerts can be generated via SMS or email if keys are overdue or not returned, supporting accountability and reducing the risk of lost or unmanaged assets.
