Vivotek Adds Powerful RealSight Engine – Vivotek, distributed locally by VSP, has announced the release of a new AI-based feature called RealSight Engine, designed to enhance facial image clarity under all lighting conditions.
The update is part of Vivotek s broader AI-enabled security platform and aims to resolve long-standing performance limitations in challenging environments such as low-light locations, backlit entrances, and rapidly changing scenes.
RealSight Engine applies image processing enhancements to footage captured by Vivotek network cameras. The system uses artificial intelligence to detect human presence and automatically optimizes clarity and detail, particularly of facial features.
According to Vivotek, the feature is designed to reduce motion blur, compensate for under- and overexposure, and maintain accurate colour rendering without manual configuration. RealSight Engine activates automatically on installation and does not require advanced user setup, improving operational efficiency in high-traffic areas like parking lots, galleries, and parks.
The new capability integrates with Vivotek s existing AI camera technologies, including Vision Object Analytics, Smart VCA, and Deep Search. These modules provide object and movement identification, event filtering, and forensic search support. RealSight Engine extends this functionality by enhancing the quality of the images collected, increasing the reliability of recognition and detection across a wider range of scenarios.
Vivotek says the new feature addresses customer frustrations with inconsistent imaging in backlit or dimly lit conditions. The technology retains background brightness while increasing detail in shadowed areas, making faces and key visual data more discernible. It also helps mitigate colour shifts and reduces reliance on manual white balance calibration in environments with non-standard lighting.
