SEN Magazine’s full-time test target Norman says he’s concerned about Round 2 of the PTZ commissioning for Sectech Camera Shootout (sponsored by CSD and Milestone Systems), due to be recorded at Seven Hills this afternoon and early evening.
“The fact the weather is cooler is a help, particularly for Ronnie Rotakin,” Norman said. “But the overcast conditions will introduce a lighting variable we must factor in when viewing the recordings at SecTech Roadshow.”
According to Norman, the differences in lighting would be more of a concern with low end cameras but they will still impact on image streams – particularly in areas like colour rendition.
“Fortunately, organisers took lux readings during the process last week, so we can test in line with light levels rather than time of night if required, but cloudy conditions are going to rob images of a little snap,” he said.
“Regardless of how things go with the Axis, Bosch and Uniview PTZs today, it’s going to be plenty of fun checking out how the cameras go at SecTech.”
