A security system upgrade is being sought for the WA Police Academy in Joondalup, Western Australia.

While the scope of works has not been outlined in the tender, WA Police Academy, Joondalup was officially opened on 15 February 2002 and even if there have been upgrades, some legacy technology will be incorporated into the site’s electronic security solution.

Adjacent to North Metropolitan TAFE and Edith Cowan University, the WA Police Academy is part of the Joondalup Learning Precinct and is a complex educational facility covering 8.7 hectares that includes multiple built structures. It was considered among the world’s most cutting-edge police academies when opened.

Although maintaining a separate identity, the Academy shares facilities with both institutions and has developed mutually beneficial partnerships to develop academic courses that increase the standing of qualifications attained through Academy programs.

WA Police Academy is designed with considerable emphasis on functionality, aesthetics and developing an open learning centre which encourages engagement with community members. These characteristics impact on all systems installed at the site and the procedures that support them.

This tender closes on May 8 and you can find out more by registering here.
