Security Bollards for Shrine Reserve – City of Melbourne has gone to tender seeking security bollards for Shrine Reserve, which surrounds the Shrine of Remembrance.
This is a very large site, with multiple access points and flat ground in most directions across Kings Domain. While the tender does not stipulate, it’s almost certain council will be seeking high security PAS-68 bollards with the ability to stop heavy vehicles moving quickly.
The Shrine of Remembrance is a war memorial in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It was built to honour the men and women of Victoria who served in World War I, but now functions as a memorial to all Australians who have served in any war.
The Shrine’s construction was overseen by General Sir John Monash, a former civil engineer, who had risen through the ranks of the Australian Army to command the Australian Corps, the largest corps on the Western Front in 1918.
The Shrine is managed by the Shrine of Remembrance Trustees, 10 individuals appointed by the Governor in council, on the advice of the Minister for Veterans’ Affairs in the Victorian Government. The Trustees are responsible for the care, management, maintenance and preservation of the Shrine and Shrine Reserve.
