Australia’s Digital Transformation Agency Signs With Amazon Web Services For 3 Years.
Digital Transformation Agency Signs With Amazon Web Services – In a move likely to impact of government security providers, Australia’s Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) has signed a 3-year whole-of-government contract for Amazon Web Services.
This is a top to bottom solution that will apply a standardised contracting framework for local councils, state and federal government and all public sector organisations, providing support and cloud services.
Government will now have access to more than 240 AWS services including artificial intelligence (AI), security and quantum technologies.
“With over 140 Commonwealth, state and territory public sector agencies currently using AWS to support service delivery in areas such as transport, health, education, and tax, this new whole-of-government arrangement improves the value, reliability, and security of cloud services in government,” said DTA CEO Chris Fechner.
“The new AWS arrangement will drive better contract performance, vendor accountability and maximise value.”
While the AWS service is a contracting framework with pre-negotiated terms and conditions, agencies must go to market to ensure a competitive outcome.
“AWS is pleased to continue our long-standing partnership with the Australian Government through this new and enhanced whole-of-government arrangement,” said AWS ANZ managing director for public sector, Louise Stigwood.
“This arrangement includes access to more than 240 AWS services including leading Artificial Intelligence (AI), security and quantum technologies to enable faster delivery of citizen-centric services.”
