secVision Networks Deploys Solar CCTV

secVision Networks Deploys Solar CCTV At Hi-Quality Bulla Site.

secVision Networks Deploys Solar CCTV – secVision Networks has deployed a solar-powered secWatch CCTV system at Hi-Quality’s Bulla site in Victoria, with the remotely connected system monitored 24/7 by the secVision’s security operations centre.

HiQ began in 1964 as a single quarry and bulk transport operator and over the past 60 years has grown to become a leading contractor developing and implementing bespoke waste solutions that span resource recovery, material treatment, energy generation and storage, and more effective disposal solutions.

According to secVision Networks’ Ryan McGovern, much of the engineering and configuration for the project was undertaken remotely from the company’s Sydney facility before equipment was transported to Victoria for installation.

“At secVision Networks, we love it when a plan comes together – especially when that plan involves cross-border teamwork, innovative engineering, and cutting-edge security technology,” McGovern said.

Why it matters at Bulla: resource recovery sites move their working faces as material is processed, so trenching power and fibre to a camera position that may be redundant in eighteen months rarely stacks up. Solar and mobile data make the camera position portable.

The HiQ solution incorporates custom-built mobile camera units, which were assembled, configured and brought online in the Sydney workshop. The units were fitted with high-gain antennas and client SIM cards to provide remote data connectivity.

secVision Networks also designed and fabricated steel brackets for the solar arrays to simplify installation of the pole-mounted systems once they reached the Bulla site.

Following workshop configuration, a secVision Networks electronics technician travelled from Sydney to HiQ at Bulla to undertake the physical installation, including erection of the camera poles and solar arrays.

The combination of solar power and mobile communications allows the secWatch units to operate without conventional fixed power and network infrastructure, making the solution suitable for remote areas of sites or locations where permanent infrastructure is difficult or expensive to install.

With commissioning complete, the cameras are connected to secVision Networks’ Security Operations Centre, where the HiQ Bulla site is monitored around the clock by the company’s secVision Virtual Guards.

“From the Sydney workshop to the Victorian field install, this project highlights what secVision Networks does best,” McGovern said.

“We deliver smart engineering, seamless remote management, and elite security.”

The deployment provides HiQ with a remotely managed CCTV solution combining solar-powered field equipment, mobile data connectivity and continuous monitoring from secVision Networks’ SOC.
