TVT 16-Channel NVR First Impressions

It’s not just the intelligent analytics, which give considerable scope, there are also application templates you can select to handle parking management, access control management, people flow, face check-in. The search function is simple, too, combining timelines and snapshots to make finding and exploring events as easy as possible.

TVT 16-Channel NVR First Impressions

TVT 16-Channel NVR First Impressions Highlight Capability Of TVT’s Content Analytics.

TVT 16-Channel NVR First Impressions – Back in 2019 – it seems like decades ago now – the SEN team visited TVT in Shenzhen and our conversation revolved almost entirely around a future in which CCTV solutions were driven by video content analytics.

My first impressions of TVT’s TD-3316H2-16P-A2 16-channel PoE NVR brought this meeting clearly back to mind as I unpacked the NVR, powered it up, connected a monitor then added TVT’s TD-9585C2H-PA 8MP IP67 2.8-12mm turret camera.

My first impression of this setup was that making it go was simple. You plug everything in and it stands straight up. The next thing I noticed was the quality of the image stream from this robust little IP67 turret camera. This is an 8MP camera with a maximum resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels.

The picture is nicely balanced, sharp, the camera handles downlights in the scene without blooming or chromatic aberrations, colour rendition is good, and there’s no wild barrel distortion thanks to a long-ish 2.8mm wide end. Looking at the bottom image it’s probably around 8-9 per cent.

Walking up and down the office and then hanging the little turret outside the office I couldn’t help noticing the capability of the integrated analytics. In the office the only target was me, but once outside the system was dishing up line crossing events with humans and vehicles, as well as doing intrusion events in areas analytics are protecting.

Cool to notice, the system is counting entry, exit and stay events – as the morning goes by I can see I’ve had 297 people, 42 cars and 3 bikes enter my detection zones.

What stands out most, however, is the depth of the back end with this system – when it comes to the full review this is where is a lot of focus is certain to be. It’s not just the intelligent analytics, which give considerable scope, there are also application templates you can select to handle parking management, access control management, people flow, face check-in. The search function is simple, too, combining timelines and snapshots to make finding and exploring events as easy as possible.

Keep an eye out for the full review of TVT’s TD-3316H2-16P-A2 16-channel PoE NVR and 8MP turret camera coming up in SEN! You can learn more about TVT from local supplier CSM here or read more SEN news here.
