ZKTeco Enhances Access Control at Auckland Art Gallery With SpeedFace-V4L Pro.

ZKTeco Enhances Access Control at Auckland Art Gallery – ZKTeco has upgraded access control at Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki with the SpeedFace-V4L Pro facial recognition terminal.

Installed in the members’ lounge, the terminal supports barcode, QR code, and facial recognition for user authentication. The deployment included integration with the gallery’s existing membership software, using ZKTeco’s API to ensure real-time data synchronisation. Custom firmware tailored the system to accommodate a user base of up to 12,000 members, allowing scalability as the gallery’s membership base grows.

The SpeedFace-V4L Pro includes a 4-inch LED touchscreen, a 2MP binocular camera, an in-glass fingerprint sensor, a microphone, and a speaker, enabling access and 2-way communication via video intercom. This function operates either through the ZSmart mobile app when internet-connected, or via SIP protocol to an indoor station.

The unit supports multiple access methods including face recognition, fingerprint, dynamic QR codes, card, and password. It offers compatibility with various card types including 125 kHz ID, 13.56 MHz IC, HID Prox, and optional dual-frequency configurations. QR formats supported include PDF417, Data Matrix, MicroPDF417, and Aztec.

SpeedFace-V4L Pro facial recognition terminals are IP65-rated for water and dust resistance and include optional wired or wireless doorbell support. Communications are handled via TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, Wiegand, RS485, and USB, with additional interfaces for lock control, door sensors, exit buttons, and alarms.

Each unit can store up to 200,000 transactions and the unit’s facial recognition is accurate up to 170 cm away, with a false acceptance rate of ≤0.01 per cent. The Linux-based OS is supported by dual-core processors and a 1GB/8GB memory configuration.

ZKTeco SpeedFace-V4L Pro is part of Auckland Art Gallery’s strategy to modernise access control with a scalable, touchless system suitable for high-traffic membership environments.
