Motorola Snares Silent Sentinel – Motorola Solutions has acquired Silent Sentinel, a UK-based provider of specialized, long-range cameras, including the Oculus, Aeron, Osiris and Jaegar solutions.

Silent Sentinel’s rugged, thermal cameras offer imagery in the complex and extreme environments associated with military, aviation, maritime and critical infrastructure. Equipped with highly accurate detection capabilities, Silent Sentinel’s cameras can identify anomalies from up to 30km to extend security perimeters for a faster, better-informed response.
According to Mahesh Saptharishi, Motorola Solutions’ executive vice president and chief technology officer, the acquisition complements Motorola Solutions’ portfolio of fixed video cameras, expands its footprint with government and critical infrastructure customers and strengthens its position as a global leader in end-to-end video security solutions.
