Medeco eCLIQ Spark Key – Medeco eCLIQ Spark Key from ASSA ABLOY is a battery-free key that generates its own energy that can be used with the Medeco eCLIQ wireless electronic locking system.
Medeco eCLIQ is a system that retrofits into existing doors and locks delivering scalable wireless access control with AES encryption. Audit information recorded in both the lock and key shows time-and-date stamped records of every event, including authorized accesses and unauthorized attempts.
With eCLIQ, the key provides all power to the cylinder, eliminating the need for any hard wiring or power supply. During installation techs simply remove the existing mechanical cylinder and install the IP67-rated eCLIQ cylinder, which can be installed in the most rugged environments.
The system offers comprehensive key management, with access rights and schedules able to be changed immediately, remotely, and easily by the web manager. Communication between the key and cylinder including transfer of power and audit trails, takes less than 0.3 seconds.
Until now, the system has incorporated the eCLIQ Connect Key, which is powered by Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), communicates with a smartphone or tablet for authorization changes, and incorporates a battery that lasts many years but must ultimately be replaced. Now there’s the option of eCLIQ Spark Key – the first battery-free eCLIQ key that generates its own energy.
The energy required for the locking function and for checking access authorizations is generated by the key during insertion into the cylinder. Data is transferred between the eCLIQ locking cylinder and the eCLIQ Spark Key with the usual Medeco high level of protection against manipulation and sophisticated attacks.
