Facial Recognition for Stadium Australia and Western Sydney Stadium.
Facial Recognition For Stadium Australia – NSW Government through Venues NSW has released a future tender seeking facial recognition technology for Stadium Australia and Western Sydney Stadium.
The release is short on detail so it’s not clear if the technology is being used to allow fast access to events or for purposes of patron identification. Both use cases are finding increased traction globally to enhance entrance point efficiency and elevate security.
VNSW has floated that it will be ready to approach market “quarter 2 2024/2025”, which is a broad timespan. VNSW is also seeking security network infrastructure upgrades for Stadium Australia and Western Sydney Stadium – we assume these support all electronic security sub-systems at the venues. You can find both tenders via the same link below.
Venues NSW is owner, coordinator, and promoter of a portfolio of publicly-owned sports and entertainment venues in NSW. The VNSW Network of venues currently consists of Stadium Australia (Accor Stadium), Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney Football Stadium (Allianz Stadium), Hunter Stadium (McDonald Jones Stadium), Western Sydney Stadium (Commbank Stadium), Wollongong Entertainment Centre and Wollongong Stadium (WIN Sports and Entertainment Centres), Newcastle Showground and Newcastle Entertainment Centre, and Stadium Fitness Facility (Sporting Club of Sydney).
