According to Doug Kennedy of C. R. Kennedy, Uniview’s new body temperature measuring and face recognition access control terminal is an excellent hands-free body temperature and access control device that’s perfectly suited to the challenges of a COVID-safe workplace – including soon to be reopened restaurants, cafes, bars and night clubs.
The unit’s thermal imager has an angle of view between 30-45 degrees, a temperature accuracy of 0.3 degrees and a measurement distance of 1 metre, which is ideal for body temperature measuring and access control applications on doors and turnstiles.
“The OET-213H-BTM32 delivers digital temperature measurement with alerts in real time, as well as face recognition authentication based on deep learning algorithms, with precise recognition rate, large storage capacity and fast recognition,” Kennedy explains. “As well as face recognition authentication, the unit delivers card, password and QR code authentication to control door openings.
“The digital temperature measurement module supports rapid body temperature detection, allowing the unit to undertake face recognition and temperature detection at the same time, allowing automated warnings to team members of abnormal body temperatures. This unit is ideal for crowded places, such as smart communities, schools, office buildings, hospitals and loads more.”
Essentially a high security, high safety access controller and authentication device for a single door, the device works offline, has a robust Linux operating system, can manage a 10,000-face capacity with white list, and has a fast recognition time of 200 milliseconds and an accuracy rate of 99 per cent.
Adjacent to the thermal imager is a 2MP optical camera with an aperture of F1.6, wide dynamic range to handle foyer applications, 6-image library for face recognition, and there’s also duplex audio, 30,000 event storage, tamper protection, and time exceed alarm function to keep door opening during fire alarm activation.
The unit’s live detection of faces makes it effective against fraud such as photo and video attacks, while the face recognition mounting height is 0.8m and 2.2m and the distance from lens to face is 0.2m to 2.9m.
Other features include comms via 10/100Mbps adaptive network port, a Wiegand input, a Wiegand output, one RS485 port, 2 alarm inputs and one alarm output, a USB port, a lock, a door contact and an exit button.
There’s support for Mifare cards, ONVIF compatibility, user management, support for user library addition, deletion and update, support for local recording and real-time upload, 12V DC power supply, a 7-inch screen with a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution, dimensions of 134mm x 33mm x 305mm, -20 to 65C operating temperature and internal IP54 rating.
