New Rhombus AI Search For Faster Video Investigations Using Natural Language Prompts.

New Rhombus AI Search For Faster Video Investigations – Rhombus has released Rhombus AI Search, a new artificial intelligence capability designed to allow operators to locate events in security video using natural language prompts rather than conventional filters or manual review.

The functionality forms part of the company’s cloud-managed physical security platform and reduces incident investigation times. Rhombus AI Search allows users to type descriptions of events or objects directly into the search field. The system then analyses recorded video and returns matching results within seconds.

According to Rhombus chief technology officer Brandon Salzberg, the aim is to simplify the process of finding relevant video during investigations that would otherwise require lengthy manual review of footage from multiple cameras.

“Security investigations are often a race against time, but security teams must manually review hours of footage across multiple cameras to find what they need,” Salzberg said. “With Rhombus AI Search, we’ve fundamentally reimagined this process. Teams can now simply type what they’re looking for — a red van in a specific area, or a person in a blue shirt carrying a package — and get back comprehensive and curated results within seconds.”

The system uses natural language processing to interpret user queries and analyse footage across multiple cameras simultaneously. This means searches are not limited to predefined filters or object classes and may include descriptions of people, vehicles, colours, or actions. According to Rhombus, the system can also identify visually similar images by analysing a reference frame and locating comparable events elsewhere in the video archive.

Rhombus director of research and development Andrew Gallatin said the capability is based on advances in large language models that allow operators to interact with video archives in a more conversational way.

“Rhombus AI Search leverages modern breakthroughs around large language models to enable organizations to react to incidents or other anomalies with ease and simplicity,” Gallatin said.

“Backed by natural language processing, teams can find what they need without navigating complex menus or being constrained by search limitations, but at the same time feel confident that employee privacy will be respected through advanced moderation techniques.”

Rhombus AI Search integrates with the company’s broader cloud-managed security platform, which combines video surveillance, access control, sensors, alarm monitoring and third-party integrations within a single interface. The release extends the company’s growing suite of AI-driven capabilities, which also include AI index points, Faces 2.0, Combined Event Search and ChatGPT integration – more details about Rhombus here and read more SEN news here.
