BGW Technologies Introduces Paradox K70M Touchscreen Keypad – According to BGW Technologies’ senior product manager intrusion, Stanley El Komala, the new Paradox M-Series K70M touch screen keypad sets the new M25 system apart from the competition.
“Having been in the industry for many years, I have to say there isn’t much that comes by in this space that deserves the time for a mention,” El Komala says.
“But this new Paradox K70M — a 7-inch touchscreen built for Paradox M Series consoles — turns the humble keypad into the control centre for the whole system,” says El Komala.
“The K70M offers arming and disarming, security settings and connected automation, all from one screen that responds the moment you touch it. The display is a brilliant 1024 x 600 capacitive panel, and it pairs with the M25 and M25LTE consoles over Wi-Fi B/G/N,“El Komala explains. “Live Paradox camera feeds and internet radio are coming as added features.“
It’s Paradox’s focus beyond security, however, that says the most about how the K70M was designed, according to El Komala.
“Take the internet radio that’s on the way – playing through built-in speakers or a set of external ones, with a dedicated 4W RMS output for background music,” El Komala says.
“It’s not just that I like the feature – it’s a reminder of how closely Paradox pays attention to the entire usability of their devices. That doesn’t come from surveying installers alone. It comes from seeing how customers live with the technology in their homes. It’s fundamental to the way Paradox design systems, with both the user and the installer in mind.”
“For installers, it’s refreshingly simple,” El Komala says. “A built-in lithium battery handles backup with up to 6 hours of runtime, power is a 2-wire 12V DC connection drawing a minimum of 500 mA, and it talks to the M system over Wi-Fi.”
“Fewer cable requirements and less time on site, which saves you both time and money and you’re delivering security, automation and (soon) entertainment in one unit. Premium for the end user, easy for the installer.“
The Paradox K70M Touchscreen Keypad is slim and quick to mount, available in white or grey, with an optional in-wall bracket and face covers in white, grey and silver.
