SecurityEdge Studio Streamlines Security Tendering With New Engineering-Led Tender Management Platform.
SecurityEdge Studio Streamlines Security Tendering – SecurityEdge Studio has released an engineering-led estimating and tender management platform purpose-built for the Australian security industry to improve the technical and commercial quality of electronic security tenders.
Developed for commercial, government and high-security projects, the Windows-based application combines engineering design, catalogue-backed pricing, bill of materials generation, commercial review and proposal creation within a single workflow. Poking through the functionality on the SecurityEdge website, this is a capable solution with potential to make tendering much easier for busy security installation teams.
Rather than focusing solely on equipment pricing, the software is designed to identify and include the supporting infrastructure required to deliver complete security systems, including head-end equipment, software licences, power supplies, batteries, storage, networking and commissioning.

SecurityEdge Studio supports many of the major electronic security platforms used by Australian integrators. On the access control side these include Inner Range Integriti and Inception, Gallagher, ICT Protege GX and Tecom Challenger, while CCTV support extends across Avigilon, Axis, Bosch, Genetec, Hanwha Vision, Hikvision, i-PRO, IDIS, Milestone and Uniview.
The SecurityEdge platform also includes support for Salto wireless locking, Aiphone, 2N, Jacques and Dahua intercom systems, Class 5 intrusion, wireless links, travel costs and custom equipment.
A key capability is automated engineering of electronic access control systems. Rather than relying on estimators to manually calculate controller capacity, software licences and expansion hardware, the application converts nominated door counts, inputs, outputs and integration requirements into a structured head-end design.
Future expansion allowances, power supplies, battery sizing, software editions and associated field hardware are automatically incorporated into the bill of materials, while management warnings highlight capacity relationships that may require review before a tender is submitted.
For CCTV projects, SecurityEdge Studio links camera selection directly with recorder sizing, storage calculations, network bandwidth and PoE requirements. Resolution, frame rate, codec, scene complexity, activity levels and retention periods are used to calculate storage requirements, while camera power consumption is converted into switch and PoE capacity recommendations. Multi-sensor cameras are recognised as multiple recording streams and automated warnings compare selected camera loads against recorder capacity and design assumptions before submission.

The platform follows a structured workflow beginning with project creation before progressing through system design, automated bill of materials generation, cost and sell calculations, management review, approval, proposal generation and project handover.
Throughout the process, tender information, commercial decisions and generated documentation are driven from the same data set, reducing duplication and helping prevent pricing inconsistencies.
Commercial controls allow estimators to apply project-specific cost overrides, adjust quantities, revise package pricing and create alternative tender versions without affecting the master catalogue. Once approved, tenders are locked to a frozen pricing snapshot so subsequent supplier price changes cannot alter committed pricing.
The application also incorporates technical and commercial assurance tools that identify engineering relationships requiring review before submission. Access control warnings highlight controller capacity, field device quantities and battery autonomy, while CCTV warnings compare camera counts, bandwidth and storage against design assumptions. A separate commercial health score summarises margin, contract exposure and estimating confidence to assist management review.

SecurityEdge Studio includes dashboard reporting for management, providing visibility of tender values, project status, due dates, discipline mix, follow-up actions and win rates across the estimating portfolio. It also generates internal management reports, supplier bills of materials, client proposals and structured handover documentation directly from the approved tender record.
Supplier pricing is maintained through a governed catalogue system supporting guided imports, future-dated price updates, historical pricing records and tender-specific cost overrides, allowing organisations to update pricing without affecting previously approved tenders.
Unlike many cloud-based estimating platforms, SecurityEdge Studio is installed locally on Windows and uses machine-bound offline licensing. Tender data, supplier pricing, client records and proposals remain within the customer’s own environment rather than a mandatory SaaS platform. Core estimating, calculations and document generation operate without continuous internet connectivity, while the application also includes integrated backup, restore and user guide functions.
According to the company, the platform is intended to improve tender quality by replacing disconnected spreadsheets and manual document preparation with a governed engineering and commercial workflow, reducing technical omissions while improving consistency across estimators and projects.
