Sunshine Coast Council Security Upgrade For Eddie De Vere Refurbishment.
Sunshine Coast Council Security Upgrade – Sunshine Coast Council has released a tender incorporating reconfiguration of security systems as part of internal refurbishment works at the Eddie De Vere Building in Nambour.
The works cover the mezzanine and Levels 1, 2 and 3 of the council facility, which currently accommodates around 200 staff. Security, electrical and data, mechanical and smoke detection systems will be reconfigured across these levels as part of the project.
The tender docs don’t provide further detail on the security works, explain existing security systems or flesh-out the extent of equipment replacement.
The wider refurbishment includes demolition of existing partitions, doors, windows and floor coverings, installation of new partitions, doors and windows on Levels 1 and 3, ceiling grid realignment, a new kitchen and PWD toilet on Level 3, and associated architectural, mechanical, electrical and hydraulic works.
The Eddie De Vere Building is on the corner of Currie and Bury Streets in Nambour and remains one of Sunshine Coast Council’s administration and service centres. Council says the facility operates as a hub for council staff, a customer service counter, Local Disaster Coordination Centre and community use through the foyer and Namba Meeting Place.
The building forms part of council’s wider Nambour Centre Activation Project. Early works completed in January 2025 at a cost of $1.05 million created the Namba Meeting Place on the ground floor.
Sunshine Coast Council seeks a single contractor under a lump sum contract covering materials, plant and labour, with work expected to commence before the 2026 Christmas break. This means security installers will be partnering with a primary contractor.
