The project is expected to include wind turbines and hardstands, battery energy storage systems, internal access tracks, upgraded public roads, 330kV/33kV substations, a 330kV switchyard, a 330kV overhead transmission line and 33kV underground cables. A permanent operations and maintenance building, temporary construction compounds, concrete batching plants and accommodation are also planned.

A capability register, not a security tender – yet
The ICN listing is a door-opener: it tells the proponent who is local and capable. The security work itself will be let by main contractors not yet appointed, so expect to pitch twice.

SEN’s suggested questions for the EOI or a follow-up
1Will security be contracted directly by the joint venture, or only through the appointed main contractors?
2Is site security expected before main works, for example for early access tracks, compounds and laydown areas?
3Is the CCTV requirement construction-phase monitoring only, or will it carry through to operations?
4Can one EOI cover security, fencing and fire services, and is a Lithgow or Bathurst presence weighted?

The scale of the project will create a substantial temporary security requirement during construction. Sunny Corner Wind Farm estimates construction employment of up to 475 full-time equivalent personnel, with around 35 personnel during ongoing operations.
Mainstream Renewable Power and Someva Renewables are currently progressing the project through the State Significant Development approval process. Construction is scheduled to commence in late 2028 if the project is approved.
This ICN Gateway opportunity is intended to identify local businesses capable of providing labour and services not covered by other project work packages. Registered respondents may be contacted for clarification and, once main contractors are selected, connected with those contractors for procurement opportunities.
