ICT Bringing Latest To SAGE 2026 Including Powerful Protege GX With Proven Enterprise Capabilities.
ICT Bringing Latest To SAGE 2026 – ICT will be showing the latest developments to its powerful Protege GX solution at Security & Government Expo between 9am and 4pm November 19 at the Realm Hotel, Canberra.
According to ICT, Protege GX gives government organisations a single system for the safety of their buildings and the people in them.
“If you are responsible for a government building, a few things have to be done right, and a few more have to be done well: knowing who is inside, acting when something goes wrong, knowing the doors keep working if a system fails, and managing the system when the expert is unavailable,” ICT says.
Protege GX is an access control, intrusion detection and building automation system that brings security functions together on one platform. Operators can monitor access events, alarms and building systems, with video linked to events and access activity.
A live muster report can show who is currently on site, while operators can control doors remotely and initiate lockdown commands. Protege GX can also trigger actions from events, including displaying camera feeds or sending events to integrated systems.
“Access, alarm and automation systems can be complex, so Protege GX handles the technical detail under the hood,” says ICT. “Operators work in one place, with access control, intrusion detection and building automation managed through a unified platform.”
“Active Directory can synchronise users and provide single sign-on, while operator roles and security levels can restrict access to particular sites, records and system functions.”
Importantly for operational continuity, redundancy is built in. If a controller loses communication with other controllers or the server, local controllers can continue responding to card reads and operating connected doors, while events are stored locally and sent back when communications are restored.

ICT also supports secure reader communications through OSDP Secure Channel, while its mobile credentials use AES-256 encryption and can incorporate authentication through the user’s phone, including PINs and biometrics.
An excellent example of the capabilities of Protege GX is City of Parramatta, which runs approximately 110 locations and supports more than 3500 users on one Protege GX system. This deployment includes access control, alarm monitoring, building automation, custom floorplans and booking system integration.
“Protege GX is delivered through ICT’s certified integrators,” says ICT. “Talk it through with the ICT team on Stand 9 at SAGE, 9am-4pm on Thursday 19 November, Hotel Realm, Canberra – don’t miss it.”
