Fire Camera System Sought By Green Triangle Fire Alliance.
Fire Camera System Sought By Green Triangle – Green Triangle Fire Alliance has released a tender for a fire management camera system covering one of Australia’s largest plantation regions.
GTFA represents a consortium of 9 plantation owners and managers responsible for around 300,000 hectares across south-west Victoria and south-east South Australia.
The alliance already deployed a 15-site camera network during 2023–24, with the current contract running through to June 30, 2027. This tender looks to the next phase, with GTFA open to solutions that either support fire confirmation and monitoring, or deliver full detection, location and automated notification capability.
For proponents, the scope extends well beyond cameras. The successful bidder will be responsible for supplying or leasing equipment, delivering supporting infrastructure, and managing ongoing operation and maintenance of the system. The camera system will use AI to detect outbreaks of fire.
Given the geography, communications will be central. Coverage across hundreds of thousands of hectares means long distances, variable terrain and limited existing infrastructure, placing emphasis on resilient connectivity, reliable data transmission and system uptime in remote conditions. Power in remote locations will be another challenge.

This application requires a wide-area detection solution incorporating early identification, accurate location and persistent monitoring across dispersed assets where response time is critical and false positives waste time.
The Green Triangle region is one of Australia’s most productive plantation zones and for GTFA members rapid fire detection is a core operational necessity.
This fire camera system sought by Green Triangle Fire Alliance RFP closes July 17 – an RFP document can be obtained by emailing anthony@gtfa.com.au
