New Centrios Exit Trim For ASSA – One of the cool new products at ISC West was Centrios Exit Trim, a device designed to meld the cloud-based, mobile-first Centrios access control platform with the battery-powered ASSA ABLOY ACCENTRA 6100 rim exit device. Note that this solution may not be available in your area yet – it’s brand new – but keep an eye out for it.
The 6100 is a widely specified commercial-grade device with ANSI/BHMA A156.3 Type 1 Grade 1 certification and can be supplied with factory-installed push bar monitoring, offering a familiar and compliant hardware base for installers working across retail, education, healthcare and multi-tenant environments.
The Centrios Exit Trim is intended to extend app-based access control to openings that are often left unmanaged due to upgrade complexity, including front and rear entrances, stairwells and emergency exits. The device supports both new installations and retrofit of existing exit hardware, including common commercial formats such as Von Duprin 98/99 series devices, allowing staged upgrades without full door replacement. This approach supports standardisation across sites while maintaining compliance with life safety requirements.
From a hardware perspective, Exit Trim is rated ANSI/BHMA A156.2 Grade 1 and is independently tested to more than 1 million cycles. It carries a UL 10C 3-hour fire rating and is IP67 rated for environmental protection, enabling installation on external doors with exposure on both sides. Operating temperature range is specified at -35°C to 60°C (-35 F to 140 F), with ADA compliance and FCC/IC certification.
Access is managed via Bluetooth mobile credentials, NFC cards and fobs, as well as mechanical key override. The system integrates with the Centrios mobile app, with lock status, battery condition and events indicated via onboard LED. Functional features include programmable auto-relock, door position monitoring via integrated DPS, and alarm/event indication.
Power is provided by 4 AA alkaline batteries with typical service life of up to 1 year, supported by 9V DC emergency backup. The device is designed for rapid installation, with in-field handing and a patented mounting system that adjusts to door thicknesses from 1-3/8 inches to 2-1/4 inches without additional kits or fixings. The housing is constructed from polycarbonate, providing scratch resistance and ease of cleaning in high-use environments.
