Octave CRK Showing LiDAR-based 3D Surveillance – Octave will host a Sydney open day on 30 April 2026 in partnership with C.R. Kennedy Security, showcasing LiDAR-based 3D surveillance and associated video technologies.

The event will be held at Crowne Plaza Sydney Airport in Mascot, running from 10am to 2pm in the Charles Kingsford-Smith Room. The session will feature live demonstrations and real-world use cases focused on situational awareness and infrastructure protection. It’s sure to be an interesting event, in SEN’s opinion. One of the technologies we think has a huge future in electronic security applications is an integration of LiDAR, CCTV and AI.

According to Evan Arvanitidis, the session is designed to give attendees a clear view of how emerging sensor technologies are being integrated into operational security environments.

“We’re bringing together LiDAR and video in a way that allows operators to understand space and movement more precisely,” Arvanitidis said. “This is about improving situational awareness in environments where traditional video alone can be limited.”

The open day will include what organisers describe as an industry-first integration of LiDAR into a video management system for 3D surveillance, delivered through a solution powered by Octave and Dallmeier. Demonstrations will be led by Andrew Hogendijk of Octave, with a focus on how combined sensor and video data can be visualised and managed within a unified platform.

Arvanitidis said the approach reflects growing demand for systems capable of supporting more complex operational environments.

“Security requirements are evolving, particularly in infrastructure and public space applications,” he said. “The ability to correlate multiple data sources into a single operational picture is becoming increasingly important.”

The event is hosted by C.R. Kennedy Security’s electronic security division, which distributes imaging and surveillance technologies across the Australian market and provides local technical support and demonstration capability for integrators and end users.

Octave, formerly HxGN, develops software platforms focused on situational awareness and integrated security operations, combining inputs including video and sensor data into a unified operational view.

Attendance is by registration, with limited capacity for the Sydney session – email hxgnsecurity@crkennedy.com.au or contact Mark Dangerfield on 0429 322 634 or Evan Arvanitidis on 0439 959 274 – be sure to take some screen shots of operational outcomes for us while you’re there!
