BGW Technologies Highlights Milestone XProtect 2026 R1 – BGW Technologies is highlighting the latest updates to Milestone Systems’ XProtect and Arcules platforms, with the release of XProtect 2026 R1 and a series of enhancements to the Arcules VSaaS offering.
The update focuses on improving system visibility, simplifying management and expanding cloud deployment options across video security environments.
A key development in XProtect 2026 R1 is the expansion of XProtect Remote Manager, which now introduces automated, customisable reporting. The browser-based tool converts system data, including performance, health and maintenance metrics, into structured reports, reducing the need for manual data handling and providing clearer visibility for operators and end users.
The release also includes updates to system management, with a redesigned Log Server interface offering improved filtering, centralised visibility and faster troubleshooting across complex deployments. Device compatibility has been extended, with the latest device pack supporting more than 16300 devices, including 181 new additions from multiple technology partners.
Milestone has also continued to develop its cloud platform, Arcules, with expanded camera-to-cloud capability and new long-term storage options. Support now extends to multi-sensor cameras and additional device types, allowing direct cloud connection without on-site infrastructure in supported deployments.
Long-term cloud video storage has been introduced, enabling organisations to retain and access archived footage without managing local storage systems. Additional updates include improved real-time control via a WebSocket-based PTZ API and enhanced mobile usability, including alert thumbnails for faster event assessment.
The updates underscore the ongoing shift towards hybrid and cloud-enabled video management, giving users more flexibility in how systems are deployed and managed across multiple sites. It’s a trend that installers and integrators need to match in their networking capabilities.
