CEIA OPENGATE High Throughput Weapons Screening For Carried Backpacks, Purses and Bags.
CEIA OPENGATE High Throughput Weapons Screening – CEIA Pacific is showing the CEIA OPENGATE weapons detection system, an open walk-through solution designed for high-throughput screening of people carrying backpacks, purses and bags without requiring bags to be removed.
Manufactured by CEIA in Italy, OPENGATE is designed to detect a range of metal threats, including multi-calibre weapons and IEDs, while allowing people to move through the screening point with their personal items.
Unlike conventional walk-through metal detector gates, OPENGATE comprises 2 freestanding pillars with no mechanical or electrical connection between them. The arch-free design eliminates the crossbar and allows the pillars to be rapidly positioned to create a screening lane.
According to CEIA, the system weighs around 12kg and can be set up in less than 1 minute without adjustment, assembly or connection of mechanical and electrical components between the pillars. This portability allows OPENGATE to be relocated between entrances or screening locations as requirements change.
The system is suitable for indoor and outdoor operation and can be powered by lithium-ion batteries or a standard mains supply. Acoustic and optical indicators at the top of the pillars provide system status and alarm indications, with the top cap designed to maintain alarm visibility in direct sunlight.

OPENGATE incorporates a high-precision transit counter and is intended for applications requiring high pedestrian throughput with low nuisance alarm rates. Typical applications include stadiums, arenas, theme parks, hospitals, museums, theatres, convention centres, transport hubs and other public locations where large numbers of people require screening.
Detection and signalling parameters can be remotely configured using the OPENGATE app from Android and iOS smartphones and tablets.
